The story of Cromer from the earliest recorded times is one very much concerned with the sea and it has celebrated over 200 years as a lifeboat station, with lifeboats launching well before the R.N.L.I. was established in 1824. The outstanding figure in the station’s history is Henry George Blogg, G.C, B.E.M, who is the most decorated coxswain in R.N.L.I. history. Our rooms are named in honour of a few of the brave lifeboat-men of Cromer.

The Harrison Room

From £135 per night.

This room is so named after Matthew James ‘Buttons’ Harrison who was coxswain of the Cromer lifeboat until 1909.

This is on the first floor and is a large bay-fronted room furnished with a 6′ zip and link bed that can be converted to two 3′ single beds and a period chaise longue.

The Allen Room

From £130 per night.

The Allen room is named after Edward Walter Allen who died in October 1941 on lifeboat service and “Gave his life to save others”.

This is on the second floor facing the front of the property and has a 5′ bed.

The Davies Room

From £140per night.

This room is named after Henry ‘Shrimp’ Davies who was one of the longest serving coxswains of the Cromer lifeboat from 1947 to 1976.

This is on the second floor and faces south.

The room offers a 5′ bed and the largest en-suite at Ogilvy House including a freestanding bath.

Unfortunately we must advise that the property is not suitable for those that have a mobility problem, due to typical Victorian stairs and general layout of the accommodation, with rooms on the first and second floors.

We cannot accommodate children under 16 years of age, but do allow young persons between 16 – 18 years old when accompanied by an adult.

We love animals, but NO PETS are permitted at Ogilvy House.
